Saturday night we threw our son Powell an 18th Birthday Bash!
He invited a bunch of friends, and we included family as well!
I knew this might be one of the last "parties" I might actually throw for Powell with friends, so I wanted it to be special~
I had found some black, grey, white striped paper so that became my inspiration for the color theme, and then I threw in orange!
Being a "guys" party...I tried to keep things more masculine...no white table coverings, no crepe paper :)
I made one of Powell's favorite desserts, Cookies & Creme and put it in individual cups...
we also had LOTS of cupcakes!
I went through a bunch of old photos of Powell, and copied them into black and white and put them up on our pantry door...of course, his friends had LOTS of laughs!
....and of course, I couldn't help myself..I had to do a candy buffet!
After using the picture that I did for his invitation, I ordered candy cigarettes (good ol' Amazon!)...and then filled the jars with all of Powell's favorite candies!
(stickers are from Powell's Sweet Shoppe...I got these when we made our trip to Boise!)
I had such a fun time planning this party, and loved the way it turned out!
Such creative ideas Dawn! I'm sure Powell felt quite special! :)
ReplyDeleteAwesome job, Dawn!!!! I love your choice of colors! SO much goodness here and Powell will remember his party forever! You are the queen of creating special days for your kids! Where did you get those cute footed cups? Are they glass? Or plastic?? xoxo
ReplyDeleteYou are the best party planner ever! I know Powell and his friends loved it!
ReplyDeleteDenise...I found the footed cups at the Dollar store...I was originally planning to use small jars with lids, but found these, and they were MUCH cheaper!!

Happy 18th Powell! And WOW Dawn!! You totally put on a great party! I LOVE the color scheme and the photos and the candy bar!! Oh candy cigarettes..my Will would love those! It looks like it was a great day!! You are such a great mom! :)
ReplyDeleteNo body does a party better than you!!! It is perfection!!! Every detail is special. You are right, it will be one of the last. As they get older the parties are big bashes where friends get together with a keg and a grill and you do not want to be there! Take it from me. :)
ReplyDeleteFantastic. You always put everything together perfectly! Love the color scheme. For my daughter's 18th, I printed out BIG photos of her and her friends and put them all over our cabinets. It was a big hit!
ReplyDeleteDawn, this is just super-am sure everyone had a great time...!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the idea of the picture gallery and hope to pull something together for Peter....he will enjoy, but i WILL most of all!
The candy bar is so fun...
Kristin had one for David's Dec grad , and Holly did one at her wedding, just as her to go gifts, etc...:)
